Being a Father means....

...reading books with the boys every night just before bed. It's become a new tradition with their daddy. It's one of the many things that he does that makes our home a happier place. They're the luckiest boys in the world to have you, Trapper. Happy Father's Day.

This morning, I set the breakfast table with Trapper's choice of cereal and juice. The boys got him a card and told him how much they love him and love playing the wii with him.

We also got him something called a windup creature. They're made by Kikkerland and are collector's items. I got him the one called Cranky. It has little arms that can hold up pictures or reminders and when you wind it up, it will dance around like a boxer. I got it for him to put on his desk at work.

Here they are trying out the Cranky wind up toy. The boys really loved it.

After church, I asked Jackson a few questions about his Daddy.

Mommy: What is your Daddy's name?
Jackson:  Trapper Yates.

M: How old do you think Daddy is?
J: 100 years old!

M: How tall is he? How many feet tall do you think he is?
J: 20!

M: How much does Daddy weigh? You weight 30lbs and Braden weighs 26 pounds. How much does Daddy weigh?
J: 100 pounds!

M: What's his favorite food?
J: Ice cream sandwiches, because he ate it!  Because he loves it.

M: What is Daddy really good at?
J: Playing Mario Brothers and working out.

M: What does Daddy love to do?
J: Play games and give mommy flowers.

M: What are your favorite thing(s) to do with Daddy?
J: Play Mario Brothers with him.

M: How are you and Daddy alike? How are you like your Dad?
J: I'm wearing a white shirt and tie like him! (this was just after church)

M: What do you love most about your Daddy?
J: We have fun together!

M: What do you do that makes Daddy happy?
J: Play games all day long.
M: haha! I don't think so, sir. Try again.
J: (after some thought) When I listen to him when he tells me to get dressed.
M: That's very true! He's very proud of you when you listen and obey.

M: If you wrote a letter to your daddy, what would it say? Dear Daddy...
J: Thank you for playing the wii with me. I love you. I get dressed by myself and you never help me. You're the best wii player.
