Thursday afternoon, I saw a sign that said, "Fat Little 5k." It was being held on Saturday and it was benefitting the Alzheimer Association. Trapper and I have wanted to participate in a 5k for awhile now.....AWHILE....Back when Ashley was with us, we said we would train up for a 5k. It never happened. : ( Until now! Well, sort of. I don't think I would've given it anymore thought if I hadn't seen known it was benefitting the Alzheimer Association. My granny has been suffering with Alzheimer's for a little while now. It was a really difficult situation on her and my parents, and a lot of prayers went out to them as they tried to take care of her. Prayers are still going out. So, in honor of my granny, I had the desire to do this 5k. I'm not the best runner and the last time I did a 5k, it was at midnight at BYU-I and I thought I was going to die. But, in my defense, the BYU-I campus is stituated on a very steep hill.
Anyway, Trapper, unfortunately, couldn't participate in this event. He's been taking a GMAT class on Saturday mornings, so if I really wanted to do it, I'd have to do by myself with the kiddos. With THAT in mind, I decided I'd rather do the 1 mile walk. lol Good choice I made 'cause half way through the mile, Jackson wanted to get out and run beside me.
Anyway, GRANNY, I did this for you. I love you.
Just before it began at 9am
Jackson loved running with me. It was hot and humid, but he didn't care.
After the walk. Yay! We did it in 20 minutes! I tried to go faster, but Jackson fussed a little bit and then we lost Braden's shoe, so we were a bit slower than I wanted. It was a fun time though. : )
