Dating Story: Chapter 1

I am taking on a challenge from a friend to write a little about Trapper and I as we dated. I wrote quite a bit of stuff in my journal, but I figure there are a few people who might not have heard our story.
In 2004, Trapper and I were both attending Brigham Young University-Idaho. He had just gotten off his mission from Romania, and I was determined to start and end the new semester with no boyfriends. One fine day though, Trapper and his friends decided to meet the girls who would be in their ward (A ward is a large congregation of people who meet in the same building at the same time for church services. There are many many wards in our world-wide church.) On the night we met, Trapper and I played "Horse" with a little basketball net that we had set up in our dorm living room. He won, of course. Later that night, when the boys had left, I admitted out loud that I thought he was cute and fun, but I wasn't about to make him into my boyfriend. Trapper told his friends that he could see himself going on some dates with me. Later on, we found out that not only were we in the same ward, but we were in a class together AND the same FHE (Family Home Evening) group. When you attend a church-based school, you do a lot of church related activities. FHE was every Monday night and our class was on a Tuesday and Thursday...so we saw each other almost every day. We were really good friends and we had a fun time together. We'd sit together in class and then we'd walk back to our dorms together. We played racquetball together a couple of times. I did my best to show what a good sport I was when I'd lose. haha! I got a taste of how much he loves his car when he invited me over to help wash his car...which all I did was stand around and watch HIM do it. Well, more like stare and gawk at him. : ) Then we were invited to go canoeing, so he and I went together, and we both agree it was the best date ever. Looking back, we both think it was because we were able to just sit and talk in our own canoe and get to to know each other with out any other distractions or people interrupting us. That's when things started to get a little more serious for us though. 'Cause after the canoe date, we went to a concert with some friends. After the concert, there was a dance and on the last song, we finally got to dance with each other, and the sparks were flying. After the dance, we went to a park with a couple of friends and laid on a blanket and looked for shooting stars. It got a bit cold, so....you'd think Trapper would've held my hand, but instead he let me put my hands in his armpit 'cause it was warm there. lol It was a really romantic evening, but neither of us were brave enough to take the next step. So we were just "friends" for about a month before things started taking off.
To be continued...
