This is Trapper posting for the first time ever on our blog :) I wanted to post a tribute to Suzy on behalf of Jackson and myself. She is not only an outstanding mother, but an amazing wife. I am so grateful she is able to stay home with Jackson and another energetic boy soon to be arriving. I know from experience that our children will always appreciate their mother being home with them as they grow older. Being a mother is definitely a full-time job with no breaks even for lunch. She does a great job of teaching Jackson new things and keeping him occupied throughout the day - and he can require a lot of personal attention. She is able to teach him sign language and manners as well as a host of other things.
As for myself, I cannot imagine a more wonderful best friend . Even with all the demands put on her throughout the day, she still manages to put dinner on the table and spend time listening to me talk about work, cars, or other things I'm sure she doesn't care that much about. She has always been willing to move around when my work requires it. It takes a lot to pack up and move so frequently. When moving from Houston, she basically packed up the house single-handedly in the two weeks I was gone working and finding a place to live here.
She puts forth effort to make herself a better person all the time. She takes time to read scriptures or the Ensign each morning at breakfast, she has learned how to cut hair (which has saved us a lot of money during the course of our marriage,) she has a great collection of wonderful recipes she cooks and frequently tries new ones, and she even learned the basics of sewing although she doesn't enjoy that one! Most of all, she is an extremely compassionate and loving person. It makes our home a wonderful place, wherever that may be.
And in the short time I've been typing this up, Jackson has lost interest in the television after about 30 seconds and has been rummaging through the bookshelf or climbing all over me. I don't know she can accomplish so much. We love her very much and wish her a Happy Mother's day!
