2nd Night--Perfect

On the second night of our new routine, I was hoping to get Jackson in bed early so Trapper and I could spenda little time together (since it was suppose to be our date night). However, Jackson didn't want to eat dinner with us. He doesn't like shephard's pie, he's decided. After his bath, I didn't want the kid to go hungry, so I made him his favorite right now: scrambled eggs. He downed that and some toast with jelly. Finally we got him into his room. I could tell he was already tired, so we made the routine shorter this time. One story, a quick "night-night" to his animals, and a shorter family prayer. Still, he kept trying to escape. The "Sleep Lady Shuffle," as it's called in the book I'm reading, went a lot faster this time! I rocked him for a minute and then put him in his crib and told him to lay down. I sat in the rocking chair and started the "sh" sounds. He cried really hard for a minute, and then for about 12-13 minutes he rolled around the crib and even peeked up at me a couple of times before he fell asleep. He was out by 8:05pm. HUGE IMPROVEMENT! Things are looking up. As for the ending of this post that used to be here. I've decided out of respect to my husband to take it off. That was rude of me, and what should have been said to him, I said to a bunch of women and strangers who might now think of him as being a jerk. He's never a jerk. Never has been since we got married almost 4 years ago. He's extremely understanding and kind, and I don't deserve him sometimes.

Check you out! I really think getting the sleep routine down is definitely harder on the mom than it is on the baby, especially on the first night! It gets easier, I promise!

We started to sing a song, read scriptures (the kids version) and pray as a family and that was a great way for us to get Reve into bed. Jackson is learning problem solving and how to deal with his emotions it is good for him. Pretty soon you will be able to put him in bed give higs kisses and just leave. Just keep working at it.
