Tagged!

Getting tagged is SO much fun!
Here's how to play: List 3 joys, 3 of your fears, 3 of your goals, 3 current obsessions/collections and 3 random, surprising facts about yourself. At the end of your post, tag more people.

3 Joys:
  1. Trapper and Jackson: Of course! I would be stupid if I didn't realize how much joy they bring to my life. Jackson's a sweet baby and I feel so honored to be his mommy. But I think the icing and cake goes to Trapper. He is absolutely wonderful. My favorite part of the day when we're together is when we kneel down to have our couple prayer. Sometimes we are in a VERY giggly mood and can't get through the prayer without laughing or we're in such a ready-to-go-to-sleep mood that it's all seriousness. But whatever it is, I love that moment. He is my sweetheart.
  2. Michael Buble, Dean Martin, or Frank Sinatra: I love their voices. They're very soothing and romantic. Sometimes when I'm working around the house, but most especially when I'm winding down and relaxing in the tub, I like to turn the music on and sing with them.
  3. Movies: My mom and I used to watch movies all the time. Our favorite is the lengthy version of Pride and Prejudice. I get all caught up in the story and I like to remember quotes and people. It's almost like a game for me. If anyone thinks they've seen a lot of movies, we should have a challenge.

3 Fears

  1. Snakes: It's a common fear, and probably for good reason! They're sneaky and creepy and they make me nervous. Occasionally I have dreams about them. It takes a lot for me to get near a snake. I'm not as scared of them as my mother. I think her fear of them would be somewhere in the range of severe phobia. I can get close to snakes without fainting, but it takes a lot of steady breathing and talking to myself.
  2. Crowds: I don't like being in the middle of an energetic crowd, like at a concert or dance or something. I made the mistake once at a dance by jumping up and down to a song with a bunch of reckless idiots and it became so packed that people fell on top of each other and I got trampled on. It was terrifying and I will never ever EVER be in the center of the dance floor again.
  3. Death: I think everyone is scared of death in SOME way. I think I'm more afraid of Jackson or Trapper dying before me more than anything. Although drowning or falling from a high place freaks me out. I hope to never be caught in a dangerous situation like that. That's probably why I'll never go skydiving.

3 Goals

  1. Lose weight: Duh! I just had a baby. That's a given. Still working on the last ten pounds, darn it! But I want to lose that and a little more before I start on the next one. *Sigh* I smell pizza. This ain't gonna work, is it?
  2. Read the entire Conference issue of the Ensign before next Conference.
  3. One day have a library full of biographies (all read) of the presidents of our church.

3 current obsessions/collections

  1. Baby Parenting Magazines: Each month I get two different magazines (American Baby and Baby Talk). And after I read then, I stack them on the toilet in our guest bathroom. I plan on using them for the future when I need advice about....ANYTHING.
  2. Journals: I have a lot, let's just say. More than ten. I like to write. It helps me vent my frustrations. It's a very personal and soothing experience for me.
  3. Baking: I've been baking a lot lately. Especially chocolate desserts. I LOVE CHOCOLATE! I've been trying new recipes from the Kraftfoods website. It's AWESOME. This week I made chocolate marble treats, which are super easy and delicious, and oreo truffles, which are also very delicious but a little more time consuming.

3 Random and surprising facts about myself

  1. I like to stand on my tippy-toes, but it usually only happens when I'm in the kitchen leaning against the counter. Sometimes I don't even notice it happening. I've done it since I was a little girl.
  2. For a brief second in college, I majored in horticulture. It's an interesting major, but a lot more involved than just planting flowers and watching them grow.
  3. I love Alan Rickman. If you're wondering who that is, it's Professor Snape in Harry Potter. I fell in love with him in Sense and Sensibility, which came out before Harry Potter, so I can't help it.

Okay, I tag Cecily, Britney, and Shyann, and anyone else who wants to do it! : ) It's too fun to pass up.

You have a higher chance of being struck by lightning than dying from skydiving. Contrary to popular belief, it's really not that risky. You only hear about the rare deaths that happen and not the thousands of people who succeed every day. I think it would be a thrill.
