For the 4th of July celebration, we signed up to be a part in the parade for our church!
These are some of our friends who we participated with.
You can always pick out our church 'cause we have the most kids and ours was extremely spaced out because it was tough for them to keep up. haha
Jackson and Braden loved throwing candy out to the little kids along the road.
After they ran out, they sat in the wagon the rest of the way. It was really hot and we were super sweaty at the end of it. We all had a great time though.
At the end of the parade, we met at the park with others from our ward and had a picnic.
Later that night, we met up with some friends to watch fireworks. Braden is upset in this picture because he wanted to cross a busy road by himself, but Mommy wouldn't let him. Mac tried to make him feel better. hehe
I made cookies for us to eat....but I have a hard time sharing. ; ) Just kidding.....they are really good though. I'm in love with them.
Waiting for the fireworks to start.
Kirkham family. Thanks for letting us tag along!
They finally started!!
We wished there could have been music going with the fireworks, but it was still marvelous to behold.
It was amazing to listen to the "boom boom!" of the fireworks and to think how blessed we are that they are only beautiful fireworks and not guns or cannons. I'm grateful for those brave leaders who gave all they could to make our country a free and independent people. And I'm also really grateful for the men and women who still fight today. I could not do what they do, so I thank them for their sacrifice.

We miss you guys so much. Chase and I were playing outside the other day with our kids while they were riding their bikes and we were thinking we should call someone and invite them over to play. I told Chase that it was to bad that the Yates were gone because they have kids our same age. It would be so fun to see you sometime. If you ever come visit good ol' Houston don't forget to stop by Richmond. Ya'll come back now ya hear.
