Trans-Siberian Orchestra: A Night of Rock 'n Roll

Ahh, the Trans-Siberian Orchestra. That was a blast. If you love jammin' to some rock 'n roll, then you LOVE this. Well, unless you don't like it when they rock to "O Holy Night" or other Christmas music. The show is amazing though.

Bev, Trapper's mom, bought this cd because she heard a pretty song on the radio by them and thought there might be more. I think she was probably shocked when she turned it on and heard nothing but hard rock. haha So she gave it to us. I was a little turned off by it at first, but we listened to it a lot and I grew to love it. Especially "Wizards in Winter" and "Carol of the Bells" which they played with Metallica. Find it. Listen to it. Let me know what you think. It's awesome. This album, "The Lost Christmas Eve", has a story, along with the songs. I didn't want to read it for the longest time 'cause I was skeptical about their sincerity of the Christmas spirit, but eventually I did read it and it was really touching! I think that's probably when I began to really like them.

They put on a show like nothing else I've ever seen. They head bang and run around the stage all night long. And the lights are crazy. They even had fire shooting out all over the stage. We were pretty far back and we could still feel the heat. The girl playing the violin on the right of that picture, she is SOOO COOL. She rocked out the hardest of any of them. I wanted to be her and play the violin, that's how cool she was. haha

This album is their newest. They played songs from it during the second part of their show. We stayed for a few, but it was getting so late and we had told the babysitter that we'd be home at 11 o'clock. Since Ashley wasn't with us anymore, we had to call someone from our ward. I'd been asking around about who's good, and I got a couple of recommendations about a senior in high school named Lauryn. We were a little nervous that she wouldn't be able to handle the boys (they are both EXTREMELY whiny and anxious about being separated from me), but after I met her, I felt good about it. I had this idea in my mind that she was a small little girl, like me, but look younger, ya know? Well, she was not tiny at all. She was like a giant! Very tall, and she acted very mature. Mostly, I was happy with the fact that almost as soon as she got to our house, she and Jackson started playing games and throwing the ball around. I knew there wouldn't be any problems, so I had no problems walking out. When we came home from the concert, she'd been reading and said that the kids were in bed and hadn't made a peep! SWEET!! I know I should just stop there and publish this already, but I have to brag. She said that they were the best kids she'd ever babysat. They laughed and played the whole evening, and they didn't fuss or cry when she put them to bed. When we pulled out the checkbook to pay her (we really felt that she deserved it), she told us not to pay her 'cause she had way too much fun. haha I thought, "Well, heck! We're definitely calling you again!"
