Ashley's been planning a waffle party for awhile now. She wanted to invite some singles from her branch to eat waffles and watch the Christmas devotional, so we bought all the provisions and got the house ready. On Sunday, she came home to tell us that they announced the little shindig over sacrament meeting saying that the devotional was being held at our house. So, the entire branch was invited. Ashley said possibly 40 people would be showing up. I was dumbfounded. Where in the heck would we seat 40 people!? The funny thing about this whole deal was that we had no table. Our table was damaged during the move to Cleveland, so we sent it off during Thanksgiving week to have it fixed. Well, it was still being repaired and wouldn't be back until the next day. Luckily, we still had enough chairs to go around and if they wanted to they could just sit on the floor.
Ashley was was cute little hostess. She made all the food with little help and answered the door and flirted and mingled with all her friends. Thanks to my friend, Katie, we were able to get enough waffle makers for the event. Ashley wasn't content to making just regular waffles. Oh no. She really loves to experiment with food and usually does a good job, so on the menu, she had regular, chocolate chip and pumpkin waffles. And for the pumpkin waffles, she had apple filling to pour over it and caramel sauce to drizzle on top. MMM MMMM. It was really good. All her friends were really nice. I felt out of place being married and having kids. The girls were more than happy to hold Braden though, of course. He was too much of a charmer. Jackson wandered around and played toys with the guys or helped me play Boggle. Then it was time for baths and bed. Unfortunately, with children, even during the bedtime, they couldn't resist all the fun. They kept waking up, especially during the Christmas devotional. I never get to hear a whole talk anymore. Trapper had to fill me in on one later when we were getting ready for bed.
Oh well. Other than that, it was fun little gig and we're still eating leftover waffles for breakfast. Yummy yummy!!
