Our 1st Week With Baby Braden

Week 1 has been surprisingly okay! I've always said that the labor and delivery is the best part, but that I HATE the afterlabor--the week after the baby is the worst! I know I can be a little too frank, but who doesn't like intense constipation, absolutely NO sleep, burning and bleeding nipples, rock hard boobs, sensitive and sore crotch and bum, etc?? I mean, it's ridiculous. The things we go through for these sweet and beautiful babies.
I'm happy to report, however, that this birthing experiences has been 10 times better than last. It's amazing what just having experience can do for you. I thank all of you who gave me advice on breastfeeding. The added information has been WONDERFUL. It gave me the confidence I needed to try it all over again, and it has been great! Braden's a great breastfeeder. And he's already gained his birthweight back and some. He loves to sleep and and we LOVE it when he doesn't even flinch when Jackson is in the same room and has a temper tantrum. The kid is a blessing. haha
Jackson's been taking it alright so far. He didn't want to have anything to do with Braden for the first hour, I think. But now he likes to touch his head and face and kiss him. What's been really interesting is that I thought Jackson would become really possessive of ME, but instead, he has become very possessive of Daddy!! He could care less if I hold the baby (as long as Dad's around), but when Trapper holds the baby, Jackson immediately starts to whine and cry and cling onto Trapper's pants. He is definitely a Daddy's boy.
He's finally taking to Braden.
He's regressing back into babyhood a bit, don't ya think?

I love Jackson sitting on the couch with Braden. He looks like a proud big brother! Annabelle is seriously missing her cousin so I hope she's 100% better soon so he can come play.
