This week has been super terrible. Not only is Jackson teething badly, he's getting sick and he's been busting his lip every single day on stupid drawers. A few nights ago, Jackson started waking up A LOT in the night. But it wasn't only the nights that were bad. A few days ago, he slipped as he was crawling and busted his lip. Not bad, but still, it was painful for me to see. The next night, he didn't sleep well. I only got about 4 or 5 hours of sleep.. I noticed he was getting a tooth but I didn't think that was the problem. I was giving him tylenol around the clock. That following day, he busted his lip AGAIN on a drawer he pulled out in the kitchen. Still, the bleeding wasn't bad, but I couldn't believe it happened again. This kid is constantly hurting himself. Sometimes when he's so tired and frustrated he'll just started ramming his head into things and then freak out. *sigh* I wish I could do that and get someone to hold me after. I just knew the night would be horrible. I only ended up with about 3 hours of good solid sleep. The next day, I was taking a shower and had just conditioned my hair when Jackson opened up a drawer (in the bathroom) and bopped himself again in the mouth. This time was WAY worse. His mouth was gushing with blood. I had no idea what to do. I was wet and he was screaming and bleeding like crazy. So I tried to stop up the blood the best I could, but he hated it when I did that so he screamed and fought, then I called Sally to see if she could come and help while I finished my shower. I decided that he'd busted his lip so much and so much worse this time that I'd take him to the ER just to make sure he didn't need stitches or anything. Everytime I tried to look at his wound, it would start bleeding up again. At the ER we waited for about 30 minutes and then someone finally called us back. The doctor there looked at him and said he didn't need stitches, just to give him lots of tylenol. As if he needs anyMORE of that. She also said that his frenulum, the little thing on the inside of his upper lip, connects so low with his gums that it will cause his two front teeth to space and mess up the rest of his teeth. So we have to get that snipped at some point. Great. Thankfully that was the only thing worth seeing the doctor about and we weren't charged for the visit.
Last night he slept better. THANK YOU LORD. But, he's SO dang fussy today. From the moment the woke up which was at 6am. He won't eat his food. His nose is extremely stuffy, thus we had to suck boogers out and that's always a wrestling match. And he's following me EVERYWHERE crying about every little thing, and this was all before 9:30am. But what does he do again?? He opens up the same kitchen drawer as the other day and busts his lip AGAIN!! This time I have no sympathy. Sure, I check it out and it bleeds a little bit, but man! Do I have to stick velcro on ALL of our drawers!? It's just unfortunate that we're renting this house because we can't drill any good childproofing stuff into our cabinets and walls. With the lack of sleep and the constant crying, I'm beginning to lose my mind.
Just had to vent. Thanks y'all.

Wow!! You've had a rough little time lately! Hope that things get better soon...
Livi has the same thing inside her mouth...the extra piece of gum that spaces her two front teeth..the dentist said that they would just keep watching to see if they had to fix it, but she is 5 and hasn't had it snipped yet.
Wow! I guess he just wants a big lip. Sounds fun...not! I hope things get better. I have a nephew who bangs his head on things and its pretty comical to see my sister-in-law trying to block him when he goes to hit his head.
Haha, I have to laugh, because i feel like i'm reading about Boston, he is always falling and his teeth go through his lip every time, and he also has to get his frenulum snipped! he has quite the gap between his top teeth, in fact, the other day he hit his mouth on Kenna's head (of course) and ripped his frenulum, I was thrilled, and thought maybe we wouldn't have to snip it but no such luck, it healed right up. what sucks is brushing their top teeth with it in the way!
wow that is ruff. It makes me want to cry for you. I hated the teething phase as well. I felt like i was drugging Reve up with Tylenol all the time. It was terrible for us as well.
I wonder if he is falling because he is just learning to walk or if he has an ear infection? Having ear infections can mess up their equilibrium and make them tipsy. Just a little thought for you, you probably knew that or they already checked for that.
