Long overdue

My brother came to visit me!!!! Yippee! It was very brief, but the fact that he came, meant SO much. It's been over a year since I've seen him. Last I saw him Trapper and I were on our way down to Houston to look for a house. I didn't even get to see him for Thanksgiving or Christmas since my belly was too big for me to go anywhere at that time.


Whats ironic is that Josh got a job working in Houston. He'll be taking pictures of houses that were damaged during Hurricane Ike. So on his way down there, I begged him to stop by and see me. Rifle lies right on I-70, and I-70 takes you all the way down to Houston, so I told him that he was obligated as a brother to come see me. Well, he came Friday night after 9pm. Too bad Jackson was already in bed, but that wasn't a problem. I woke him up so he could meet his Uncle Josh. After about 45 minutes, I put him back in his bed. He liked his Uncle Josh though! Josh hugged and kissed on him and Jackson didn't cry! Maybe he was just too tired or maybe he understood that Josh is family.
We stayed up past midnight talking to him. It's been a long time since I've stayed up that late. I think since 2005 when I was still living with my roommates.

We made Josh a pallet on the floor in the living room and went to bed around 1:30am. Jackson woke up the next morning at 7:30am. HE'S A MUCH BETTER SLEEPER THESE DAYS. It's WONDERFUL. He's a happier kid and I'm a happier mama.
Anyway, so when he woke up, Trap and I got up. We talked with Josh for a little while until he decided he should go. It was great to see him! I'm just glad he finally got to meet his new nephew.
