Cheesecake and Massages

After the Bears Inn, we drove to downtown Denver which is where our next B&B was. Downtown Denver is RIDICULOUS! I'm not a big city kind of girl, so I was glad to eventually leave, but the experience of something new is always fun and interesting. When we got there, the city was clearing everything up from the last night's DNC. And then they were also setting up for The Taste of Colorado, which I guess is a beer fest or something. The traffic with all of this was exhausting. We drove around and around, practically in circles forever! We had no clue where we were going. I had a hair appointment set up with a salon, so we found that and then just walked over to Sam's and had a pizza and hot dog while we had nothing to do. My hair appointment went great. Not much to really say about that, so I'll just move on. We finally checked in with the Capital Hill Mansion. Our room was the Forget-Me-Not room. It was comfortable and cozy. It had a dvd player in it, so we brought a couple of movies to watch. Gone with the Wind. haha Not really Trapper's choice, but it was the next movie on our Netflix account, so he had to settle for that. He actually ended up enjoying it! He thought it was going to be like Pride & Prejudice or Sense & Sensibility, but to his pleasure, it wasn't anything like them. I'm getting ahead of myself, so after we rested for a bit in our room, we drove out to Centennial, which is south of Denver and we went shopping and walked around the mall. For dinner we ate at the Cheesecake Factory. So good. We had the lettuce wraps and ribs and then for dessert we had their anniversary chocolate layed cheesecake. WOWZERS. Talk about amazing. When we got back to the B&B, we sat up and watched the first disc of Gone with the Wind and ate chocolates and gummi bears.
For breakfast the next morning, we were directed to their cute little patio in the back. And the food was such a delight to see. The juice was cranberry, for one thing. LOVE CRANBERRY. We had fruit first and then we had lemon creme brulee french toast with bacon. *SIGH* Now that's what I call a breakfast. I could've kissed that chef. After I ate everything off of my plate, we went back in and showered and headed off to Spa Universaire. I'd never been to a spa before, but I'd heard from a few people who've been and they convinced me that it is one of the most relaxing things to do. And I agree. I'd set up an appointment for me and Trapper to get a couples massage. It took a bit of persuading, but he eventually caved. : ) We were given a tour of their different rooms, and then they showed us into the dressing rooms and brought us some water since we don't drink coffee or tea. We dressed into our robes and then were introduced to our masseuses. Mine was Kristen and Trapper's was Gabriella. First, they scrubbed and rubbed our feet, which we were a little nervous about b/c our feet are disgusting right now with burned off warts. But they just scrubbed on like it made no difference. Piano music played in the background while they did their work. I almost fell asleep a couple of times and I think I almost drooled a few as well. It was THAT good. I didn't want it to end. After an hour though, we had to put our robes back on and go. We sat in the steam room for a few minutes just for the experience, but after that we left. I want a massage now at least once every few months. Those are the bomb!!!
